Our Vineyards
Boushey Vineyards
La Serenne
Owned and farmed by the esteemed Dick Boushey—who planted his first vines on the site in 1980—Boushey Vineyard is one of the Yakima Valley’s most enduring sites.
As one of Betz Family’s longest-standing grower partners, Boushey provides the foundation for our Syrah, La Serenne, that captures the vineyard’s purity and elegance. The original cuttings for Boushey’s Syrah came from Red Willow—the state’s first Syrah planting—linking two iconic vineyards.
Set in a notably cooler pocket of the Columbia Valley, Boushey allows for extended hang time, preserving acidity and enhancing aromatics. The resulting wines are expressive and balanced, showcasing Boushey Vineyard’s expression of place, farmed with vision and integrity.

Olsen Vineyard
La Cote Rousse
Besoleil
Père de Famille
Clos de Betz
Established by brothers Dick and Larry Olsen, who have been growing grapes in the Yakima Valley since 1980, Olsen Vineyard has become a vital source for our winery. Now under the careful stewardship of Leif Olsen, the vineyard is a model of viticulture in the Yakima Valley. From its Syrah for our La Côte Rousse to its vibrant Rhône varietals—Grenache, Mourvèdre, Counoise, and Petite Sirah—for our Bésoleil, Olsen delivers fruit of exceptional character and balance. Underlining its versatility, the site also contributes key Bordeaux varietals such as Cabernet Franc, Merlot, and Petit Verdot, which go into our Père de Famille and Clos de Betz.
With a commitment to quality and decades of farming expertise, Olsen Vineyard continues to shape some of the most expressive wines in our portfolio.

Heart of the Hill
Heart of the Hill Cabernet
Perched in the middle of the Red Mountain AVA, Heart of the Hill Vineyard was first planted in 2006 and is farmed by Scott Williams—whose family pioneered grape growing in Red Mountain.
Consistently delivering fruit for our deep, brooding, and assertive wines, this vineyard is the exclusive source for our Heart of the Hill Cabernet Sauvignon.
Heart of the Hill has quickly earned its place as a power player on Red Mountain—the generational knowledge of its farmers and sustainable practices ensure that each vintage captures the unique character of Red Mountain’s terroir.
Red Willow Vineyard
La Côte Patriarche
One of Washington’s most historic vineyards, Red Willow is farmed by Mike Sauer and his family, and is home to the state’s first Syrah block, planted in 1986—fruit now sourced by our winery.
Tucked into the northwestern edge of the Yakima Valley, and situated on the cooler south slope of Ahtanum Ridge, Red Willow benefits from a longer growing season, often harvesting up to three weeks later than warmer sites like Red Mountain. This extended ripening yields Syrah of exceptional brightness and refined structure, which contributes to the complex profile in our La Côte Patriarche.
Red Willow’s pioneering legacy and cooler climate distinguish it as a benchmark for elegance and longevity in Washington wine.

Betz Family Winery is not open to the public. We host “Member and Friends” events throughout the year.
